Gunnar grew up on a farm in South Central Nebraska and remains a farm boy at heart. In 2013, he spotted some bee-keeping equipment for sale in the want-ads, and that's how Gunnar's Honey came to be! Ever since, our business has remained a small, family-run operation. Gunnar serves as head Bee Keeper/Whisperer, primary Harvest Master, and first Officer of Honey Tastings.

Gunnar's Honey is sourced from single and separate locations in Minden, Plattsmouth, Valley, Waterloo, Memphis, Elk City, Norman, and Yutan, Nebraska. Because we keep each apiary's harvest separate, our honeys have distinct colors and unique flavors, based on each locale's flowers and rainfall. Our honey is cold-processed, so it retains the enzymes and anti-oxidants that make it a true super food. Our honey is 100% pure, 100% raw, and 100% natural. Gunnar's Honey: taste the difference!

In the summer of 2016, Gunnar's Honey (Lizzy) became the official Queen Bee of Gunnar's Honey (the business). After teaching high school English for 14 years, I now enjoy the various and sundry adventures of this Honey Biz--harvesting, processing, bottling, pouring, labeling, marketing, selling, and especially taste-testing the honey! I'm quite content leaving the care of our  beautiful buzzing friends to my HBH (Handsome Beekeeper Hubby).
